Moroni Chapter [ Parashah ] Seven

The invitation to enter into the Lord’s rest is extended — Pray with true intent — The Blessed Spirit of YHWH enables men to discern good from evil — Satan persuades men to deny Jesus Christ and do evil — Prophets foretell the coming of the Savior Jesus Christ — Through faith, miracles are performed and angels minister — Men should have the hope of obtaining eternal life and should draw near to charity. Circa 401–421 AD (The name Jesus Christ is retained for illustrative purposes)

And now I, Moroni, write a few of the words that my father Mormon spoke concerning faith, hope, and charity; for thus he spoke to the people, while he taught them in the house of worship and prayer which they had built as a place of worship.

And now I, Mormon, speak unto you, my beloved brethren; and it is by the grace of YHWH our Elohim, and our Lord Yahshua Jesus Christ, and His holy will, because of the gift of the calling which He has given me, that I am permitted to speak unto you on this occasion.

Therefore, I would speak unto you who are of the church, who are the peaceable disciples of Yahshua Jesus Christ, and who have obtained the necessary hope whereby you may enter into the rest of the Lord, from this time forth, until you have rest with Him in heaven.

And I judge this of you, my brethren, because of your peaceable conduct toward the children of men.

For I remember the word of Elohim YHWH, which says: By their works ye shall know them; for if their works are righteous, they are righteous also.

For behold, YHWH has said that a man, being evil, cannot do that which is righteous and good; For if he presents an offering, or if he prays to Elohim YHWH in the name of Jesus Christ, unless he does so with true intent, it profits him nothing.

For behold, it is not counted to him as a righteous work.

For behold, if a man, being wicked, presents an offering, he does so grudgingly; therefore, it is counted to him as though he had withheld the offering; therefore, he is counted as wicked before YHWH.

Likewise, it is counted as wicked to a man if he prays and does not do so with true intent of heart; yea, it profits him nothing, for Elohim  YHWH does not receive any of these.

Therefore, a man, being wicked, cannot do that which is righteous; neither can he present a righteous offering.

For behold, a bitter spring cannot give pleasant water; neither can a clean spring give bitter water; therefore, if a man is a servant of the devil, he cannot follow Jesus Christ; And if you follow Yahshua Jesus Christ, you cannot be a servant of the devil.

Therefore, everything that is right and good comes from Elohim YHWH, and everything that is evil comes from the devil. For the devil is the enemy of YHWH and wages war against him continually, tempting and enticing us to sin and to do what is evil without ceasing.

But behold, everything that is from Elohim YHWH invites and entices us to do what is right and good continually. So that everything He invites leads us to do what is right and good, to love Elohim YHWH Yahshua Ruach, the Blessed One, and to serve Him, because it is inspired by Elohim to help us.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, take heed that you do not judge that what is evil to be from Elohim YHWH, nor that what is good and right to be from Elohim to be from the devil.

For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may discern good from evil; and the way of judging is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as the light of day is from the darkness of night.

For behold, unto every man is given the Ruach, the Blessed Spirit of YHWH, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way of judging; for every thing that inviteth to do good and righteousness, and persuades to believe in Yeshua Jesus Christ, is sent forth by the power and the gift of Yeshua Jesus Christ, wherefore ye shall know with a perfect knowledge, that it is of YHWH.

But whatever thing persuades men to do evil, and not to believe in Yeshua Jesus Christ, and to deny Him, and not to serve YHWH, then ye shall know with a perfect knowledge, that it is of the devil; For this is how the devil works: He cannot persuade anyone to do what is right, not even one, nor his angels, nor those who submit to him.

Now, my brothers and sisters, since you know the light by which you can judge—the light of Jesus Christ—be careful not to judge wrongly, because in the same way you judge others, you will also be judged.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to search diligently in the light of Christ so that you may be able to distinguish good from evil. If you hold fast to all that is good and right and do not condemn it, you will be children of Elohim Yhwh.

Now, my brothers and sisters, how can you hold fast to all that is good?

Now we come to that confidence [emunah] I said I would speak about; And I will show you the way in which you may lay hold of all that is good and righteous from Elohim.

For behold, YHWH Elohim knowing all things, since He exists from eternity to eternity, behold, He sent angels to minister to the children of men, to make manifest concerning the coming of  Yahshua Jesus Christ; and that in Yahshua Jesus Christ all that is righteous and good should come.

And YHWH also declared to the prophets, by His own mouth, that Jesus Christ should come.

And behold, in various ways He made manifest things that were good and righteous to the children of men; and all things that are righteous and good come from Jesus Christ; for to men who were fallen there was nothing righteous and good that could come to them.

So through the ministry of angels and every word that proceeded from the mouth of YHWH, people began to exercise faith in Yeshua Jesus Christ; and thus, through faith, they grasped all that is right and good; and so it was until the coming of Christ.

And after he came, people were also saved by faith in his name, and by faith became children of Elohim YHWH. And as surely as Christ lived, he spoke these words to our fathers, saying, “Whatever you ask the Father in my name that is right and good, believing that you will receive it, behold, it will be granted to you according to what Elohim YHWH in his wisdom knows you need.”

And after he came, people were also saved by faith in his name, and by faith became children of Elohim YHWH. 27 Therefore, my beloved brethren, have the miracles ceased because Yahshua Jesus Christ has returned to the heavens from whence he came, and has sat down at the right hand of Elohim to exercise his mercy which he has upon the children of men who have accepted him?

For he has fulfilled the ends of the law, and claims all those who have faith in him; and those who have faith in him shall lay hold of all that is just and good; therefore, he pleads the cause of the children of men; and dwells eternally in the heavens.

And because he has done this, have the miracles ceased, my beloved brethren? Behold, I say unto you, they are not; neither have the angels ceased from ministering unto the children of men.

For behold, they submit themselves unto him to minister according to the word of his command, manifesting themselves unto them that have a strong faith and a firm mind in every form of holiness.

And the office of his ministry is to call men to repentance; and to fulfill and accomplish the work of the covenants of the Father, which he has made with the children of men; and to prepare the way among the children of men, declaring the word of Yahshua Jesus Christ to the Lord's chosen vessels, that they may bear witness of him.

And by this working, Elohim YHWH prepares the way for the remnant of men to have faith in Yahshua Jesus Christ, that the Ruach of YHWH may dwell in their hearts, according to his power; and thus Elohim YHWH accomplishes the covenants which he has made with the children of men.

And Yahshua Jesus Christ has said: If ye have faith in me, ye shall have power to do whatsoever things are expedient for me.

And he has said, “Repent, all you ends of the earth, and come to me, and be baptized in my name, and have faith in me, that you may be saved.”

And now, my beloved brethren, if these things which I speak unto you turn out to be true, and in the last day Elohim YHWH will show you with power and great glory that they are true, and if they are true, has the day of miracles ceased?

Or have the angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them? Or will he do so, as long as time endures, or the earth exists, or there is a man upon the face of it to be saved?

Behold, I say unto you, no: for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister in behalf of men; Therefore, if these things have ceased, woe to the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is futile!

For, according to the words of Jesus Christ, no man can be saved unless he has faith in his name; therefore, if these things have ceased, faith has also ceased; and dreadful is the condition of man, for he is as though no redemption had taken place.

But behold, my beloved brethren, I think better things of you, for I judge that you have faith in Jesus Christ because of your meekness; for if you have not faith in him, then you are not worthy to be numbered among the people of his church.

And furthermore, my beloved brethren, I would speak unto you concerning hope. How can you attain faith, unless you have hope?

And what is it that you must hope for? Behold, I say unto you, that ye must have hope, through the atonement of Jesus Christ and the power of his resurrection, that ye shall be raised unto eternal life, and this because of your faith in him, according to the promise.

Wherefore, if a man hath faith, it is necessary that he should have hope: for without faith there can be no hope.

Moreover, behold, I say unto you, that a man cannot have faith nor hope, except he be meek and lowly of heart.

For if not, his faith and his hope are vain, for no man is acceptable unto the Lord but the meek and lowly of heart: and if a man is meek and lowly of heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus is the Savior, it is necessary that he should have charity: for if he hath not charity, he is nothing: therefore, it is necessary that he should have charity.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, if you do not have love, you are nothing, because love never fails. But cling to love, which is greater than all things, because everything will perish.

But love is the pure love of Jesus Christ, and it endures forever. Whoever has it will be well with them on the last day.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, pray earnestly to the Father that you may be filled with this love, which he has bestowed on all who are true disciples of his manifestation, the only begotten Jesus Christ. so that you may return to be children of Elohim YHWH; so that when he appears, we may be like him, for we shall see him as he is; so that we may have this hope; so that we may be purified as he is pure. Omein Amen
